John, it seems that these supposed reps only intervene when their credibility is at stake hence the chairs recent comments in emails, I do not recognise these people and shall continue as before, they created this scenario, let them suffer the consequences, a couple of liars and cheats in Cambs does nothing to promote the "once" good name of NHW. When a member of the Cambs group is now denying the comments regarding housing association residents, this shows how low these people are, more lies and cheating, then theres Brierley who is pretending to be chair when apparently he is not!!! WHICH ONE IS LYING, WHO IS TELLING THE TRUTH? DO I BELIEVE BRIERLEY OR THE NHWN CHAIR??? THIS GETS BETTER, MAYBE THEY COULD HELP THE ELDERLY BY DIGGING THEIR GARDENS, SEEMS THEY HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE AT DIGGING HOLES

Future of NW |

With quarterly meetings, failing to produce Minutes after a Calendar Month does NHW no credit all. But then again apart from a cosy meet up, nothing else is produced. Yes there is an attempt to jump on matters that are already there, matters that would go on without any declared NHW Network involvement. I am certain there are people in the wings waiting to pounce on anything I write that is not correct. Thank you to that small Scheme in Anywhere Close for holding NHW together, not the weakest but the strongest link. There are no prizes for someone pointing out the weakest link. But then again it has not declared itself as anything, produced anything or more importantly led anything. This Government brought down the NHW Association, as weak as it was. It managed to replace it with something even weaker, something styled on its own leadership policy perhaps? Of course it is countdown to the NHW Network Website, brought in on what appears to be an Observers suggestion. There is no transparency as to who is bank rolling this, either the Home Office (but only publish what we want) or advertising revenue driven, the Company involved doing their community bit for promise of a later revenue stream. Am I going to be impressed by the shop window and then walk into an empty shop?

Yes you can use your vote for a government that has failed to curb violence on UK Streets. I have posted about violence before and without doubt it has increased in the last 10 years. It is out of control in many parts of the UK. How long will binge drinkers and the mob be allowed to take over the Towns and Cities when and how they please? A short quote from a news report about what was taking place recently in a Village Hall, ‘ More than 200 youngsters kicked holes in walls, ripped off curtains, wrecked a toilet, forced doors, smashed cups and left blood on corridor walls during the mayhem’ Then quotes from the lady attempting to restore order and stop this. "It was just horrendous. They were absolutely plastered, being sick, some could not stand up. There were about 200-250 in the hall and another 50 outside”. "I asked the PCSOs if they could back us up in closing it down, but they did not have the authority” Gordon Brown - you are letting the people down as did your predecessor. It is not people in yellow coats that we need on the streets, but people with real power to take them back again. Is anyone else concerned about the direction that the UK is going? The increasing bloodbath?

I have not been able to email all Police Forces that operate with 0845, as I am approaching it via the regions and attempting to get NHW Network Representatives and Regions interested. This will be completed soon. I will give credit to the Police Forces that have replied some with a commitment to move to 03 and one has already set a date. I sure there must be others. Without doubt all UK Police Forces are aware of Ofcom and the push for the Police Service not to make money out of the necessity to contact them (for themselves or other parties). They are not the only public organisations that do this, but they have a core function within our increasingly fragmented society. I unintentionally published an email address in my postings regarding this. I thank those who contacted me directly. People may not always post on this forum, but be assured they do read it (like you are now).

101 The Position
General NW Issues |

After the government dropped supportive funding (not unusual for something that would be useful for so many). It still survives and a 101 committee has been formed. This consists of parties who have an interest in making this happen and have something to bring to the table. It is interesting to note that NHW Network is not involved. This is to be expected with no national presence. It takes a voice and the minimum of self direction, of course. My concern about this is the greedy nature of some, where 10 pence a call will not be enough. The government will not mind as the VAT rake off will always be there as with 0845.

Two Forces adhere to this, Staffordshire and Northamptonshire. Northumbria have changed their 08 to 03. Surely the people of the UK get ripped off enough without this? NHW Network does not appear to have the ability to take any matter forward. Well here is an easy one for them. I am giving myself a laugh here, thinking that they will actually take this or anything on.

Peter Taber has presumed that L Santos resides in the area that this matter concerns, given the input. It is now known that this is not the case. L Santos, you should examine your own replies and attitude before using words such as inane. No doubt you will still have the interest to read this. L Santos, you display troll like behaviour and seek other than a feeble reply, so here it is.

Crime Prevention - Bank Cards

With online banking, a facility that would protect both the Bank or Financial Institution and the Customer would be the provision to invalidate any of your credit or debit cards. There will always be Cards that you not actually using at any one time. This will be for a variety of reasons and lengths of time. The block would invalidate the Card so that it could not be used for a purchase if stolen or misused (normally by other member of the household). Carrying the Card – validate via online banking. Leaving it somewhere? – invalidate it via online banking. New Cards would be issued invalidated for online bank user activation. This could be extended to any type of Card with online accounting i.e. Store Cards.

From casually monitoring the UK murder rate, this was a violent street assault. It is the balance of there increase against those that end up fatally injured. In the National Crime Lottery stakes, the odds are all there of becoming a victim. It would be the most generous pay out lottery in the World. With the effort made not to take part, made pointless, should you happen to be walking along your own street at the wrong time…
