NSGWI
Neighbourhood Watch Police Steering Group for Watch Issues
Frank Whiteley, Chief Constable of Hertfordshire Constabulary and ACPO lead on Neighbourhood Watch said:

“The roll out of neighbourhood policing teams means that from April this year, every area in England and Wales will have a dedicated team designed to be flexible and responsive to local needs and priorities. That presents an opportunity for the Police Service to work even more closely with Neighbourhood Watch schemes and improve the cooperation and information sharing between the Police and Watch members. Neighbourhood Watch schemes are not, and never have been, a substitute for policing. On the contrary, the neighbourhood policing rollout is bringing an increased policing presence into local areas and greater opportunities for co-operation with Neighbourhood Watch in identifying issues of local concern and working in partnership with local people to solve them.

“All the case studies mentioned in the paper reflect practice already happening in various parts of the Country. They do not represent Policing on the cheap but a genuine attempt to work better with local people to deal with local concerns."

Neighbourhood Watch in Context

There is considerable overlap in the aims of Neighbourhood Policing and the
Neighbourhood Watch movement, particularly in respect of crime prevention,
sharing intelligence, identifying issues of local concern, being involved in
community problem solving, promoting social cohesion, building community
capacity, public reassurance and confidence in local policing. These aims are
set out more fully in this document.

Does Community Orders sound any better. This is another example of how 'new names' are used without any consideration for existing ones. NHWN should bring this to the attention of both the Home Office & ACPO at once.

Are the interests of these people devoted to their own county rather than NHWN? These people do not represent a County - they represent a large Government Region and one a whole Country. I can only say that the answer must be a big YES. There is no output or view expressed otherwise. It is not more
