The following information has been provided by Brian Wallace, Village coordinator for Langbank Neighbourhood Watch. Brian can be contacted via the link above. Langbank village is situated on the South bank of the River Clyde some 16 miles west of Glasgow, it is surrounded on three sides by some 3 miles of open farmland and on the fourth side by the mile wide river. There are some 500 households, a village shop and a Church of Scotland. Langbank Neighbourhood Watch is well established, having been first formed some 15 years ago and has continued to be well supported with most residents aware of the need to take an interest in the goings on of the village and to look out for the well being of their neighbours. There are some 60 households spread around the village which are in touch by email and information can be passed to all of these whenever needed by any of three main coordinators. It is consequently very easy to have the whole village aware of happenings very soon after any event. Local Police send out regular information re crime and such matters to several agencies in their area and the three coordinators mentioned above receive this. Two of these coordinators are members of the village Community Council which produces a Village Newsletter every two/three months which is delivered to all households and includes an article on Neighbourhood Watch. click to find closest groups to this postcode | |||||||
